Very thorough and friendly. After the inspection Dennis quickly printed and assembled a professional binder with an outline of what he inspected and pictures of any correlating defects. During my home inspection career I have inspected many decks and porches. One of the most common issues I find is a lack of paint or stain on the wood to keep it protected. If water is allowed to penetrate the wood it will cause the wood to deteriorate. Read the rest of this entry »

H-Clips for Inspectors

H-clips, also called panel-edge clips, are small steel devices that fit snugly between wood panels in order to provide them with edge support. They are often used with roof sheathing to keep it from feeling spongy or soft at its edges. Their size should match the thickness of the panels to which they are attached.
